In this lesson, Boris explains in detail the causes of formation of trigger points, morphology of trigger points and offers reference to studies on trigger point therapy. Concurently with his onscreen explanation, Boris also demonstrates hands-on how to detect by palpation, acute trigger points, sleeping trigger points and satellite trigger points, as well as how to treat them by manual means. Please be aware that it is impossible to reach stable and sustained results without trigger point therapy.
Myofascial Alliance Release: In this lesson Boris proposes techniques for superficial fascia as well as deep fascia release.
Stress-Management Aspects: We can assure you that after studying the materials offered in this lesson, you will never underestimate the power of soft tissue mobilization for stress management purposes.
Deep Tissue Mobilization: In this lesson Boris proposes four strategies for deep tissue mobilization.
Frozen Shoulder Phenomenon: The knowledge that you will acquire from this lesson about “frozen shoulder” will allow you to reach sustained results more rapidly in cases of this difficult condition.
The instructor is Boris Prilutsky, MA, who has more than 38 years of clinical experience in the fields of physical rehabilitation, medical massage, and sport medicine. All above mentioned protocols are introduced in a simple way, step by step, so it is very easy to study. The written material within the lesson should be viewed as a text that helps the viewer to understand all aspects of the above mentioned modalities.
As additional material in this lesson, Boris also briefly covers incorporation of hot stone therapy in orthopedic massage, Chinese cupping, on-site office massage therapy info, and back massage for fibromyalgia patients and stress management.
All protocols are introduced in a simple straightforward manner that allowed to practitioners to quickly learn and implement learned methods on clients, suffering from described disorders.
Learning Objectives
To allow a participant to learn theoretical aspects of all described techniques as well as hands-on performances to the level of immediate implementation on clients.
For the best results, please read the literature, take notes and watch the video material carefully. We suggest you observe the hands-on demonstration at least three times as the detailed explanation will allow you to learn the material to the extent of successfully implementing these techniques to pass the test.
The test is the multiple choice questionnaire. Please note, that detailed explanations within the video as well as the support materials actually contain answers to the test questions. Watch the videos at your leisure, practice your new skills with friends or clients. There is no limit of times to retake the test.
Upon successful completion of the course, we will notify the State Board of Massage Therapy of your completed hours.

- Take the test. (You must score 70% to pass. If you do not pass, you may retake the test.)
